ESRI is one of the world's leading centres for independent vehicle safety and human factors scientific expertise. It undertakes research projects on behalf of the EC, government departments and their agencies and commercial organisations worldwide.

Research activities are focussed on vehicle and road safety and applied ergonomics. With some 65 members of staff and an annual research income of some £2.5M, ESRI is one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe.
